Good Morning Ladies and Gentleman
I would like to welcome our supporters, shareholders, sponsors and the media to this very important press conference which in many ways represents the first step in the Wollongong Wolves business plan to return this famous club to the lofty levels once enjoyed in winning back to back national titles.
The Wollongong Wolves first started operating as a football club in 1981 with a famous first up victory against Sydney Olympic at the previously named Wollongong Showground. A long and passionate history has followed with many of those original contributors present here today. The Wolves are currently playing in The Vodafone Premier League comprising the top teams in NSW. The league is centered on finding, developing and showcasing the rising stars of tomorrow in a competitive competition. We are thankful to the sponsors of the Vodafone Premier League being Vodafone, Continental Tyres and Fairfax Community Newspapers for their support of young football stars of the future.
Playing in the Vodafone Premier League presents the Wolves with an opportunity to develop and refine their infrastructure when it comes to football matters, physical and financial assets and connection with the football community at large.
This is obviously not possible without the support of sponsors to which we are extremely grateful.
With that in mind I have great pleasure in announcing that: -
